Spain/Portugal Toll Tags

Having just driven around Japan and used the ETC toll tags I want to use the VIA-T tags for our Spain and Portugal tour later this summer. The Emovis tag units you can buy to stick in your windscreen don’t work through an athermic screen like I apparently have in my 991.1
Has anyone used one of these please or do I have to hold it out of the door window when approaching the tollgates as I have read?!

Hi there. Just returned from a trip to Spain/Portugal.
We used our 991.1Gts. We used an Emovis tag without any problems. It worked first time, everytime.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes. Mike.

The combined Portugal/Spain toll tags need to be registered to a particular car's registration because that is the requirement of the Portuguese toll system. I use this type of tag in Spain where the registration number is irrelevant and thus useful with hire cars.

I have a Bip&Go Tag in my 991.1 GTS and it works fine. France, Spain and Portugal. (although I’ve not tried it in the latter two yet. Next year.👍)

I have to second Mike. The Emovis tag works fine in a .1 GTS. The installation instrunction for it does tell you to put it outside the dark band around the windscreen. Mine was hidden by the rear view mirror.

Can I ask a simple question please - what are these tags and where do you get them from and how do they work etc. Is it similar to the Tamar Tag down her in Plymouth? Whenever I have driven through France and Spain I have just paid with my visa card at the toll booths. Thanks
