992 Register Event Report Porsche Wolverhampton and RAF Cosford

992 Register Event Report Porsche Wolverhampton and RAF Cosford 13th April 2024

EVENT REPORT –

An incredible 40 x 992 Register members in 24 cars had booked onto this initial Register event for 2024. They met for coffee and pastries at the Porsche Centre Wolverhampton facility in advance of the short convoy drive for the  Visit and Guided tour of the RAF Cosford Museum. I am sure the sight of this number of Porsche 992’s was quite a memorable spectacle for anyone on the route.

The RAF Cosford Museum is home to over 75 historic aircraft including the world’s oldest Spitfire, the unique TSR2 and the mighty Vulcan bomber to name but a few. You can discover a world-class collection of aircraft and artefacts displayed inside three wartime hangars and within the award-winning National Cold War Exhibition.

The 992 Register were allocated special parking between the National Cold War Exhibition and the Test Flight and War in the Air Hangars, which became a spot for many photo opportunities.

The group were hosted by three RAF guides and the 1 ½ hour ‘Highlights tour’ comprised of visits to Bomber Command, National Cold War Exhibition, and the Battle of Britain hangers, each having the complete story of the individual moments in time celebrated by this interactive museum.

Special thanks to Alex and the team at Porsche Wolverhampton and the staff at RAF Cosford for making the visits feel welcoming and looking after us so efficiently and professionally.

Thanks also to everyone who attended, viewing some of the images of the day, shows that this was another enjoyable and successful 992 Register event ……
