R15 was well represented at this year's National event held in conjunction with the Silverstone Classic over three days. Many members made the pilgrimage to the home of UK motorsport and enjoyed what will be remembered as one of the best National events to date.
As well as the huge Club marquee, housing club shop and endless supply of tea and coffee, there was our own private grandstand, the 40 year transaxle display of 944s, 968s and 928s along with the 20 year Boxster evolution display. Also right next to the marquee was the very impressive line up of National Concours cars and the huge Porsche Cars GB display featuring all the front engined cars recently restored by Porsche Centres up and down the country.
In addition to this there were Register displays and infield car parks stuffed full of Porsches as far as the eye could see. The Club won the best in show for car club stands (by a country mile, we would guess!)
The weather stayed dry, although not necessarily always warm, throughout and there was some brilliant action on the track with historic (and extremely valuable!) cars racing in earnest.
Alan was fortunate enough to take part in the Saturday parade lap in his 928, as pictured.
