March Monthly Report

Porsche Centre Bournemouth's  Dealer Principle and staff at our monthly meet

What a turn-out! A total of fifty-one attended the March meeting and lots of Porsche’s in the car-park greeted our guest speaker, Neil Lines, dealer principle at Porsche Centre Bournemouth.

Porsche Centre Bournemouth

Tref opened the meeting by welcoming everybody present including several new members then he quickly handed the meeting over to Neil who proceeded to tell us about his vision of the ongoing relationship between PCB and R26. Introducing the Porsche Bournemouth contingent, there were some new faces as well as a couple of old friends and it spoke volumes that we had six Porsche employees in attendance on the night, all giving up their own time voluntarily to be with us for the evening. Describing his team at Ferndown as the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable group of people he has worked with during a long career in car dealerships, Neil was obviously proud to be part of this iconic brand. Keen to promote the friendly environment at Ferndown, but equally aware that there are still many Porsche owners who, for various reasons, are reluctant to visit their OPC, he encouraged members to pop-in to the showroom at any time, whether they are looking to buy a new 911 or just fancy a cup of coffee and a chat. As a regular visitor to the showroom, I can vouch for the fact that you will always be made more than welcome.

Porsche Classic Club

The exciting news for many of us present was that PCB has been appointed a Porsche Classic Club dealership. Aware of the importance of their heritage, Porsche GB are keen for owners of older cars to use their dealerships and are now offering a number of benefits, including discounted labour rates and parts prices, when you sign-up for Classic Club membership, but perhaps of most appeal to owners of older Porsche’s is the fact that PCB have now appointed Nick Perry as a specialist Classic technician. With almost thirty years’ experience of working on Porsche’s, there is a distinct possibility that Nick PDI’d your Carrera 3.2 when it was new!

Carry your card with pride!

Neil finished by giving us two dates for the diary. On April 18th, there will be a service clinic at Porsche Bournemouth when you will have the opportunity to get your car checked over by a technician who will take you through the inspection process and explain any issues or potential issues your car might have. This could be a perfect opportunity to get your car checked over before setting off for France. Next, on May 16th they are hosting an exciting photographic event for classic Porsche owners and more details of this are to follow.
