Magnus Walker @ Ace Cafe March 2015

News from March's Ace Cafe meet

'You never know what will turn up' we often tell Porsche enthusiasts when they ask about our Ace Cafe meet.  Tonight was one of those nights.  The legendary Magnus Walker, an iconic collector and modifier of early Porsches was in town, a long way from his native California and keen to visit Ace Cafe for the regular Porsche night.  Word soon spread amongst the community and by 7pm, the car park was full with cars parking alongside the road and on the verge.  The air cooled were out in force, especially the 964's in all shapes and colours, making a night of it and getting a chance to meet their hero.

The range of cars never ceases to surprise us from a handful of 912's to a stunning 997 GT3 RS 4.0 in the capable of hands of Gordon Robertson, the Chief Driving Instructor at the Porsche Experience Centre.  More surprising as this was a cold, wet and windy March evening.  The modifieds were very well represented, something that Magnus is well known for.  He mingled with the crowd, chatting to everyone, patiently having his picture taken.  Several video crews did interviews and he enthusiastically plugged the Porsche night at Ace Cafe and gave big thumbs up to Porsche Club GB and the London Region.  In total over 90 cars squeezed into this unassuming corner of North West London creating an amazing atmosphere and a sense that this was a very special evening.
