R20 Sunday Escape - 'Not Quite' London to Brighton Run III

News from our second 'Sunday Escape' of 2015

What a difference a couple of weeks makes.  The glorious sunshine of early March has turned into a wet and windy day.  Nothing would deter our hardy London members, and we benefited from near empty roads as we headed to the coast.  Our route took us up into the hills, hugging the contours and enjoying the misty views, through woodlands and pretty villages.  The drive up the switchbacks on Ditchling Beacon was superb with the weather keeping the cyclists at bay.  We ascended into the cloud layer for a spirited rive along the top of the downs, before dropping into Brighton.

With half the group on their first club run it was good to see the pure joy and big smiles as we display parked on the iconic Madeira drive, buffeted by the gale force winds.  Pictures taken,  experiences swapped and we were back in our warm cars for the short hop along the coast to our lunch stop at the Ginger Pig in Hove, who did us proud again.

Fancy giving one of our drives a go?  Our drives are one of your member benefits.  We operate on a first come first served basis with the list opening for the next run soon after the previous one completes.  We have a maximum number of places available to ensure safety and that the run can flow.  It is always worth asking, even at short notice; Cais became a club member just a few weeks ago and joined us today in his stunning 'Racing Yellow' Cayman.  His car is featured heavily in our gallery.

Remember we have our regular open meet at Ace Cafe tonight (30th March), all welcome.
