Patrick one of our regional members competes in competition trials.

This car is a Crossle 80T Sporting Trials Car. It was built in 1995 and I have owned it for just a year. The engine is a Triumph Acclaim (Honda Civic) 8 salve unit with an increased bore and stroke making it 1420 cc. The engine runs only on LPG (no carburettors/petrol. It has an independent rear suspension incorporating a VW transaxle with an additional reduction gear to provide suitable gearing. The vehicle must be fitted with a specific tyre size and tread pattern but pressures are normally dropped to 2 or 3 psi during competition to give extra traction. I participate in a national championship run by the BTRDA (British Trials and Rally Drivers Association) consisting of 24 rounds held in various parts of the country from Cumbria to Kent to Cornwall.
