Club member John Dymond has for some time, been trying to arrange a visit by the club to Harmeny School in an effort to raise awareness both of the work that the school does and also of its current fund-raising appeal. John is a trustee of ‘Friends of Harmeny’ associated with the main Harmeny Education Trust.
Based in the village of Balerno, Harmeny School has, since 1958 provided specialist residential and day care education services for children 5-14yrs who have experienced severe trauma in their early years, through abuse or neglect. The school has an excellent track record in helping children begin to deal with the impact of their trauma and to develop the skills to lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Website here.
After coffee and cake, a short presentation by the Chief Executive about the work which Harmeny undertakes will follow as well as a few words on their current fundraising initiative. There will be a raffle of Porsche-branded items and it is hoped that there will be an opportunity for the children to have their photos taken with members and their cars. If requested, a quick look round some of the facilities Harmeny provides could be arranged.
This will be a great partner’s event and if you can’t make the run, please try and join us at Harmeny School.
If attending please contact me on the details below.
