January in Scotland... Cold, dark and almost always dreich.
January in Australia...tops off, hoods down and air con at max.
Here in region 2, January is a prime time to focus on good food and great company, which is why the Short Drive, Long Lunch event was created! When it's too cold and dark to make use of the ever-flowing roads, we like to focus on catching up with the membership, and sharing ideas for the year to come.
Join us on Sunday 23rd January at 11am as we take in the coast in search of a warm Aussie welcome.
Meeting at the Stonehaven Outdoor Pool Car Park, we plan to follow the A92 south to Montrose, to Roos Leap for an Outback themed lunch. There's sure to be some shrimp on the barbie, as well as steaks, and a boatload of fries on the side! Have a Captain Cook (Look) at the Roos Leap menu here.
We will be departing from Stonehaven at 11am, leaving ourselves plenty of time to park ourselves down for a 12pm lunch. There is no holding back, as the full lunch menu will be available to us, attendees are to settle their bills directly with the restaurant. We have several smaller tables booked, and attendees are reminded to comply with all covid-19 restrictions the restaurant has in place - most importantly to wear a mask when not seated.
NOTE: There is a flight of stairs (20) to get to the restaurant
We are continuing to be vigilant with health and safety, and would like to remind all attendees to use facemasks, clean or sanatise your hands regularly and not to attend if you feel unwell.
We would strongly encourage attendees to Flow Before You Go - Lateral Flow Tests can be ordered for free from the Government website, or pick up from your local pharmacy. Details here.
