The Scotland North Region (R2) is the Club's largest in area, covering Scotland from Dundee to the Shetlands, and from Aberdeen to The Western Isles. Most of our membership is in the Aberdeen area, but with quite a number of members further south, our Assistant Organiser Gillian, who is based in Dundee, takes a special interest in the 'in-betweeners', and often arranges events jointly with Scotland South Region.
Our region has some of the country's most spectacular scenery and roads, and we try to get out and enjoy driving events throughout the year as well as attending some static shows. Our annual Weekend of the Year, the 'Gain-an-Hour Weekend', held on the clock-change weekend each October, has become well known around the Club and is very popular.
Members in the Aberdeen area currently meet on the first Thursday of each month at The Lairhillock, a popular pub and restaurant just off the Netherly road between Aberdeen & Stonehaven, at 8 pm (except in January, when we prefer to meet for a Sunday lunch later in the month). The format is completely informal, a chance to meet friends and catch up on matters Porsche and other as well as discuss future events.
Members in the Dundee area also have a meeting with a similar format on the third Thursday of the month at the Milton Hotel in Monifieth, also at 8 pm.
We aim to keep members in the Region updated through our monthly email newsletter as well as provide regular updates on our forum pages.
