A visit to Birmingham for the R3 classic car enthusiasts
NEC Classic Motor Show 11th November 2017
This year a large group of R3 members converged on the NEC for the Classic Motor Show. A few of us made a weekend of it, staying over in Solihull and enjoying at evening out for a curry. The halls of the NEC were bulging with a varied range of great looking cars, trade stands and auto jumble. There were some fantastic examples of the Porsche marque on display, not just in front of our Club stand but with the Porsche Cars GB Classic display and the 924 Owners Club next door, with Gmund Cars from Knaresborough all in one corner of Hall one. Members, as always, were grateful of a sit down and complimentary cuppa at our PCGB hospitality unit. During the show Fuzz Townshend of Car SOS fame was signing autographs and chatting with the public. When asked for a photo he kindly obliged, so once again we pranked a celeb, giving him the camera and asking him to take the photo. As it so happened, it was the same members that Magnus Walker called “The Nine Forty Four Guys” when the same stunt was pulled on him. Thanks to Fuzz’s sponsors, Frost and of course Fuzz for being a great sport and joining in the fun, only question is - who's next?

On a bitterly cold day a group of us went to Spedeworth Motorsports stock car racing at Aldershot Raceway. We had 17 races, the final being a destruction derby.
