Our Weekend of the Year to the Lake District
Over recent years our Weekend of the Year has become a longer stay, making it difficult for those members who struggle to take time off work. This year we were keen to get back to a good old fashioned WOTY. Thank you to David & Karen Bradford who took over the reins and organised our Jaunt to the Lakes. Meeting at Rheged near Penrith, we followed a scenic route through the Lake District to the Lakeland Motor Museum. After an overnight stay at Preston Marriott, we set off for Salmsbury Hall. Unfortunately, our tour guide, the Ghost of Goodwife Agnes, had called in sick with the plague, so after a brief look around the historic building we headed off for lunch at Wensleydale Creamery, via the Trough of Bowland. Falling on Drive It Day 2019, we shared the roads with some interesting classics, all out enjoying some fantastic driving roads. In line with all R3 WOTYs we enjoyed some great scenic routes, good food and excellent company, with many new friendships being formed.

Organised by Boxster owners Trevor and Angela Stringer, R12 spent an 'access all areas' day on a behind the scenes tour of the East Anglian ex military airfield.
