911 Carerra build time

How long does it currently take to get a new car built and delivered in the UK. Do different dealers quote different times depending on the allocation they have. I'm ready to place an order and am just wondering if I should try multiple dealers for a build slot or will they all be pretty much quoting the same lead time ?

I ordered mine mid January I think and it's due to be ready to leave the factory in a couple of weeks. Not sure if that is an accurate picture of the what the situation is now or if different dealers have build slots or whatever. However, I was initially talking to 2 different dealers and both were quoting the same delivery time. Good luck!

Depends on the specific model you want. And on the dealer's allocation from Porsche. Your opc may have a build slot this year for, say a C4S Coupe in July but you want a C2 Cabriolet. If they are able to find another dealer (usually within their group) with a C2 Cabriolet slot they may be prepared to negotiate a swap. The factory do not allow changing a model swap in the allocation, I guess they know what they're doing! This is my understanding/experience. Also, if you are clear on what you want, there is always the chance of a cancellation elsewhere for your particular requirement. So, I would try and get your local opc to do a bit of legwork on your behalf.

Ellis & Peter , thank you very much for your valuable insights. it appears there could be an advantage in trying a large dealer group.
