The Festival of Porsche South West event at Bovington Tank Museum, Dorset clashes with pre-existing events! R15 South West - Wadebridge Wheels and R26 Dorset - Sherborne Classics and Supercars. Both events already booked for the same 17 July date. What numptie booked and organised this without consulting with the local regional organisers first? We at Dorset region already have 35-40 cars going to Sherborne.

Absolutely ridiculous.! How can a regional event be organised and confirmed without reference to regional RO's to check suitable dates? Would love to attend said event but I'll be in Sherborne for the region's main annual event. Fingers crossed that sense prevails and the Bovington Event is rescheduled.

No, first we heard was that the venue had already been booked for an event on the 17th that the club would now like our support with, the confirmation email today confirmed that the Tank Museum had been booked for the same day as Sherborne Castle Classics & supercars (biggest classic car show on the south coast)

we have had a significant presence at Sherborne for 15 years now, it’s our main event usually preceded by WEYPOP on the Friday

I think the new Events Manager was presented with a near impossible task to organise 6 "super regional" events in such a short time frame - and unaided. Primarily, though, it would appear that the EM had not been briefed that Regions would already have an Events Calendar up and running for 2022 and that dates may clash...one arm tied behind the back and a patch over one eye! The EM has clearly put in a monumental amount of effort to get to this point, all made with the best intentions, which shouldn't go unrecognised.

I hope that an alternative date can be found too.

You appear to be correct, the new EM was equally as disappointed as we were with the clash of dates, it does appear that there has been very little handover/guidance or even any communication with the local RO's prior to this new initiative, which we have only been made aware of this week.

I believe an alternative date is being looked into by the EM, hopefully we will end up with 2 great local events, which is just what we need.
