Hello, I am new to 911 and do slowly explore my new companion. And as one can expect there are a few questions that arise which I hope will find some answers in this forum.
1. Small compartment at the front: under the front hood there is an extra little compartment which looks like it had something in it which was removed. Any idea what this is for (image 1)? Also there is an opening into the passenger compartment (image 2).

2. Drivers door: on the sides of the door are a few switches which function I have not figured out yet; there three in the front (image 3) labelled 1,2,3 and a single one on the rear side of the door (image 4)? And on the top of the inner side is a small red LED (image 5).

3. Mirror on the co-driver side: this has been added at a later stage; I have not found an option to switch from adjusting the driver side; any idea where that could be located?
4. Dashboard panel: there is an extra silver "thing" next to the wheel (image 6). Any idea what that would be for?

5. DAB radio: I have a DAB radio (image 7) and I think the related DAB antenna is on the top of the front window (image 8). Unfortunately the reception is very bad and mostly interrupted. Any idea about the cause (wrong antenna location or ...)?

Thanks.
In case the images do not show, one can right-click on the icon and select "open image in new tab" which will then show the image.

Hello,

Some people will probably have far better knowledge of your car than me but here are a couple of answers (others will correct me if wrong)

1 : Small compartment : This is the "smugglers box"". Some will tell you that is was used to hide contraband when driving across borders (and has probably been used for such things LOL) but it is in fact where the webasto gasoline heater was located on original SWB cars and I think where some of the AC components where located as well on other models. Great place to store things (as long as they don't rattle around).

The switches I must admit don't have a clue (alarm ???)
Extra Silver Thing : Don't know !!
DAB Radio : The aerial on this radio seems to be a little hit and miss... I had mine on bottom rear window and reception was OK but not perfect, I have moved it to top of rear window with the lead coming from the top like yours and reception is now perfect. Also make sure you have got a very good earth otherwise it will play up (i found this out when I first fitted mine)
If all fails, you car use adaptors to plug in original aerial (see here I did a quick post on this : https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1087437)

Will be interested to find out about your switches...
