The warranty shouldn’t be affected with a valve controller - it’s a simple plug-in device and so involves no modifications. I’ve had no issues with Toyota with my Supra either despite a new exhaust - I think it would be different if the cats were removed / replaced, but it was a ‘slip on’ exhaust instead, as would be the Lichfield version. The ECU tune is a potentially different matter, but Toyota designed the car with after-market tuning in mind and the dealers haven’t noticed it at all anyway in several visits -but annoyingly overwrote it when doing a warranty recall for safety system software! However it was easy to reinstall at a modest cost.

Re the driving experience, I think I got the invite around May, so that would be 8 months after I paid my deposit.

Hmm, Toyota and Porsche are probably very different animals when it comes to what's allowed under warranty, you can't even hard wire a dash cam😡
If the valve controller is purely plug and play I will look at that if/when I get my 4.0👍
8 months fir the PDE would be perfect, I would rather have a May/June date. Did you have date options or where you given  just one date?

I was offered an earliest date a week or two before but scheduled in one slightly later that suited me - they were solidly booked at the time until November. You’ll be contacted by letter or email to call the Experience Centre and can discuss options then. I gather they have 100+ cars on site, so can cater for just about every mechanical configuration and I specifically asked to drive a manual GTS. Hopefully you’ll get a contact soon.

Re the Cargraphic device, I understand it uses existing plug points and basically adds an extra ECU to keep the valves open through the full rev range when you select Sports mode. It is removable without trace too if you want to be safe for servicing, but I don’t yet know how accessible it is. More details can be found on RPM Technik’s website and there is a good video online of a test of the device by Janko Lind if you Google Cargraphic directly too.

I got a Cargraphic controller for my first GTS4.0, after clearing it with my OPC that it wouldn't cause an issue with warranty. I had it fitted by RPM Specialist Cars, it took about an hour to do; 2 minutes to fit, and 58 minutes to get to where it needed to be fitted they told me!

The car I test drove had 3 of the 4 wheels kerbed.
It was running Pirellis and they seem so stretched over the wheels, in particular the rear wheels, the rims had no protection.
Other cars for sale on A/T seem to have Michelins and don't look as stretched. Those running Michelins do they offer better protection?

Yes, the Michelins provide much better wheel protection. Unfortunately you cannot specify what tyres you want when you submit an order - I've tried!

Yes, the N0 Michelin PS4S have significantly better rim protection than the Pirelli P-Zero alternative. Interestingly the N0 Michelin has much better rim protection than the generic version of the PS4S.

Did you find the Cargraphic controller worthwhile then? The standard exhaust seemed really flat without it in the mid-range.

And if you have any pics of your Av Green GTS you’d be happy to share, I‘d be really grateful as I’ve only ever seen a handful of cars in that shade; mostly 911s or Caymans too. Many thanks
