Some great photos Paul👍
Is yours Aventurine or Agate, can't quite tell on the photos?

Thanks.

It's aventurine, I agree, hard to tell apart in some lights unless you have an agate car alongside ... this one might help with the colour ...

Was this the used car Swindon had in around March. If so I looked at it, very nice colour combo. I would prob have purchased if it had had the PDSLs.

2018 Porsche Macan GTS, Carmine Red full GTS package.

Hi Guys, loving all the 4.0 GTS chat 😊 got me wondering, what is the 4.0l based on 🤔. A bored out 3.4/ 3.8 or 4.0 engine from 911 ? Just interested.
thanks Adrian.

I think I read somewhere it's the same engine as in the GT4 and Spyder but with a few hundred rpm less at the top end so in everyday use gives similar performance to those models. It doesn't directly answer the question however - which engine is it based on. Someone on here will know and enlighten us no doubt.

Yes, it's the Swindon car - 1000 miles round trip for us to bring it home! We bought it mid January, after several weeks too'ing and fro'ing we arrived at a deal we could both live with and the rest is history as they say :-)

The 4.0 litre engine in the 718 GTS 4.0, GT4 and Spyder is based on the 3.0 engine in the 991.2 and 992 Carrera models, only bored out to 4.0 and without the turbos.
The engine is identical in all three 718 models, just with slightly different software, this software is also different between engines mated to PDK and manual transmissions.

I think modern engines are amazing. When I first started driving 100 BHP / litre was a big deal and needed a very high state of tune to achieve - basically a race engine. Bear in mind that was before catalytic converters and GPF filters were required and fuel was available with much higher octane than it is now. Now we have engines that are at that level of performance with 20k mile service intervals and meet EU6 requirements and are happy tootling around without fouling a plug at the earliest opportunity.

Re your recent question, I'm still waiting for a collection date Jurassic GTS, but my own GTS has been in factory for a week or so now and the VIN has been confirmed on 'My Porsche'. I gather it's due at the OPC on 19 June, so I'm assuming I'll get to pick it up about a week later. I hope it won't be long now as I'm missing the poke & sound of my Supra (part-exed recently) and my Skoda Citigo run-about isn't quite in the same league as either, although still a fun drive!

Hi Rob. That it a very kind offer but would not risk driving your car on 3rd party insurance 🤔 I will contact Silverstone Experience Monday to see if they have one.

Hello everyone

Yesterday, after what felt like a never-ending wait, I finally 'joined the club' with the delivery of my new special car. I am absolutely chuffed to bits with it and so thought I'd share a picture of it with you. Now looking forward to a few trips out, starting with Wollaton Hall tomorrow!

I moved from 14 way on my 981 to 18 way on the 25th Anniversary, both are good options, the 18 way seats have better options for lateral grip with the bolster adjustment.
