Date: Friday 20th August Cancelled
Arrival: 10am
Venue: Bowcliffe Hall (LS23 6LP)

Club members are invited to enjoy a relaxed cars and coffee style event at Bowcliffe Hall on Friday, 20 August.

Built between 1805 and 1825, Bowcliffe retains the stately atmosphere of a country house, but has the amenities expected of a modern events, meeting and office venue. Situated just off the A1(M), four miles south of Wetherby Bowcliffe Hall is the perfect location for any event. The Drivers Club is the most sumptuous of spaces, with hundreds of memorabilia and artefacts, it is any motoring fanatics dream.

Its manicured grounds create a sense of tranquillity and lend themselves to corporate entertainment, celebrations and team building activities. For business or pleasure Bowcliffe is one of the most outstanding locations in Yorkshire.

Members can simply pop along for a coffee or enjoy a lunch from the "Pit Stop Grab & Go Café”. Registration for the event is required in advance.

Please register your attendance using the booking form so that we have idea of numbers attending along with the possible need to "track and trace". Bookings for this event are per person.

Hello Rob & Joan, I imagine they will be in touch in due course, still very early days at the moment.

I am looking forward to this one

Hello Peter,

Christine and I have registered for cars and coffee.

We are unknown newish members still waiting our new car delivery which is due In June.

It being very close to us, it would be daft to miss out. Booked for Lotherton as well.

Welcome to the club.

Fantastic news and looking forward to seeing your new car and welcoming you both in person.

We hope that the easing of restrictions will allow more events to take place very soon including the return of regular midweek evening get togethers.

I have an email saying this along with the Porsche festival are cancelled.

”Government restriction”

why?????

these events are after the next set of guidance. We have 60000 at wembley, 4000 at Yorkshire motorsport festivaI.

truly disappointed with this announcement. I have along with all taken care this past 18 months but believe there is no COVID reason these cannot go ahead.

COVID is never going away so are all future events cancelled forever?

Couldn't agree more, to be honest I was amazed to get the cancellation email. Maybe it's something to do with the new Stuttgart variant, that no one knows about!

Very sad news, we thought we were over the worst of the restrictions but still they are having an impact.

Can't understand how this and Lotherton are cancelled when we just had a seemingly successful car show at Castle Howard?

Would really want to understand the logic behind these decisions!

There is some really odd and dichotomous interpretations of government guidance being made here. Agree not much logic to it.

Although I cannot give you all the details as I have not dealt with this first hand, the cancellation of Lotherton is a result of Leeds CC guidelines which restrict numbers attending at the venue to the point where the event cannot take place.

I think I can safely assure you that we (the CoG), Porsche Club GB, Strasse and all involved are disappointed that we cannot celebrate the 60th anniversary at Bowcliffe Hall and the Yorkshire Porsche Festival at Lotherton this year.

We will endeavour to organise as many events as we possibly can within guidelines.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for explaining the Leeds Council angle. Still disappointing though, when we are only weeks away from supposedly opening up!

Cheers,

Andy
