Cars and Coffee at Bowcliffe Hall 20th August 2021 Cancelled

Thanks for the update Peter. Good to hear that Porsche Club were not the reasons to cancel. Shame on Leeds CC.

Based on the fact that Covid is with us for a long time, nothing much will be happening in Leeds for a long time. They should be trying to get the leisure industry open again, not cancelling it all.

You're welcome, it is most frustrating, the council have their responsibilities and whilst it is very easy to blame them, I don't envy those having to make the decisions.

Obviously it is possible to hold large open air events and we hope a standardised procedure is in place before long.

We are looking at other events we can have a presence at, as well as our own outdoor events.

Okay so I am obviously missing something here, where does it say on this PCGB website that Lotherton Porsche festival is cancelled, if it is indeed so then why is there nothing saying so on this site? I received an email today saying that Bowcliffe Hall was cancelled, but nothing about Lotherton.

Hello

I received an email from PCGB informing me it was cancelled. I had already signed up for tickets so guessing the message went out to those who had signed up. I received a separate cancellation email for Lotherton and Bowcliffe

If the event was organised this year with covid being around all of us, with tickets on sale through the club, have the goal posts suddenly moved regarding numbers?

I can understand Lotherton Hall event being cancelled because of numbers. But not Bowcliffe Hall, the E-Type 60th celebration is still taking place on the 13th and 14th July, a 2 day event for up to 60 cars. How many cars were we expecting? Something does not seem right, it's not the government, it's the correct interpretation of the rules that has to be questioned. Such a pity.

Good morning Jenny, the series of events were intended as a weekend of activities, because it was impossible to hold the Yorkshire Porsche Festival at Lotherton the decision was made to postpone events at both locations, including the drives for Saturday.

It is disappointing as we were all looking forward to visiting Bowcliffe Hall, it was not a regional event we in R7 were running, it was organised by the clubhouse team as part of the 60th Anniversary events and the logistics of holding a single event may have prompted the cancellation.

We are attempting to fill the void created by this and will be posting details once we have them.
