Hi Colin

Thanks for replying so swiftly on the other thread (the one about the 2nd June meet) but I see that thread is now locked. You were going to reply to that thread with an update though so I've started another one. This thread will also allow other R19ers to chip in on the idea of a Q&A and possible future events etc should they feel so inclined.

Cheers

James

Hi James, I don't know why the previous thread is now locked, certainly not something I've done (not knowingly at least) :). I'll take another look in the morning. Thanks for letting me know. Regards, Colin.

Thanks Colin. It's odd though because it was certainly locked at one point. I wasn't the only R19er to notice.

Things have moved on now though and I've gone from wanting to contribute ideas for future R19 events to wondering what on earth is going on at the region. The R19 grapevine tells me Yuk has been asked to step down from the committee. I'm very concerned about this because, other than Yuk, the new committee doesn't appear to be making a great deal of effort to engage with the people who've effectively been R19 for the last ten years or.

We are used to a full calendar of events and we currently have next to nothing and the chap (Yuk) who took it upon himself to form a bridge between the core membership and the committee has been told to step down.

I've known Yuk for years and I find it hard to believe he's done anything to merit being ejected. As I asked above, what on earth is going on?

James

Hi James,

I can't comment on Yuk's position, but can say that personally I am saddened by his departure from the R19 team. I will be keeping in regular touch with Yuk as a fellow R19 member and friend.

I can assure you that the R19 team are working hard to build a varied, interesting and regular calendar of events across our region and are open to talk with and hear from all members on all aspects of the R19 Regional Group. As our monthly meets are usually a busy time for the R19 team, and as has been requested, Q&A meetings are being planned to provide a forum for R19 members to discuss all aspects of the R19 region. The dates and locations will be issued as soon as they can be.

Kind regards,
Colin

this will be my third attempt to leave a post NOTE TO ALL THIS SITE DOES NOT WORK WITH AN IPAD ……..

I am very saddened that the core of R19, has been swished aside by a new team with a different agenda.

The Coppid Beech has a lovely car park with lots of parking ......but the other facilities leave me cold, and take me back to my times staying in corporate hotels, in my view it does not provide the right ambiance for a Sunday lunch venue. With regards to events I am looking for social type events ………..driving breakfasts, lunches and BBQ's...…. I am not keen on show and shine type events ….

Hi Karen,

Thanks for getting in touch. Sorry to hear you had problems using the forum pages from your iPad. I'll give them a try from my tablet and mobile too to see what they behave like.

I can assure you that there is no differentiation between any members in R19 and that all aspects of the R19 group are in the interests of all members.

I agree that the initial meets and events arranged to date have been static meet and display events, but a more varied calendar of events, hopefully including something for all our members preferences, are being planned. Details of each event will be sent to all R19 members as soon as an event is confirmed and finalised.

It is great to hear from you and to receive your feedback and suggestions.

Kind regards,
Colin

Hi Colin. Just wanted to say that I am impressed with the Events E mails we have received so far in relation to R19 Events. I did apply for the Coffee and cars at Reading PC in July but due to the numbers was unsuccessful. I would like to be on the reserved list please if anyone drops out , I only live 10 minute's away so could attend with very little notice.

Regards. Hendy.

Hi Hendy,

Thanks for getting in touch and for your encouraging comments. I hope that there will be many future events that you will want to attend and enjoy.

The Porsche Centre Reading Cars and Coffee event had such a swift response, and I am sorry that we couldn't offer you a place on this occasion. The refurbishment work at the Reading centre has reduced the available space, so for the time being guest numbers have been reduced. I have the details of our members that were disappointed on this occasion and will reallocate any places that are cancelled or offer them a place should further places become available.

Thanks again for your comments,
Kind regards,
Colin

Hi Colin, While I am a Surrey R29 member could I be added to the R19 Events email as I came to the coffee in the carpark in staines meet and My little lad and I couldn't have been made more welcome! Sadly my R29 monthly meet always falls on a day that I have to do Daddy Day care as the wife works late!

Hi Nick,

Thanks for getting in touch and it is good to hear that you and your son enjoyed the Staines meet. I have heard a lot of positive response from the event, which was managed by PCGB, but was not an R19 event unfortunately. :)

You are very welcome to join in on any R19 event and if you could send me your email address (to r19@porscheclubgb.com), I will send you our latest mail out.

You can add R19 to your email preferences via the PCGB website within your membership profile. Your home region will still be Surrey, but you will also receive R19 mail outs.

I hope to meet you at one of our future events in the near future.

Thanks and regards,
Colin
