Hi

was after some advice. I’ve owned my 991.1 GTS for three years now and it has been a great car, but looking at Porsche dealers there are some good deals available on 991.2 Turbo cars and I am getting very tempted. The Turbo was always a poster car and the performance is a step on my my normally aspirated GTS which hasn’t depreciated that much meaning the cost to change is not to bad to get a 2 yr newer car.

Is the Turbo good fun to drive on B roads like the GTS or is the performance just so off the scale you can’t really access the fun unless you are doing really unsociable speeds.

Any thoughts welcome

Personally I don’t think the speeds are unsociable ?? and yes I would say just as good if not better
just with the sheer low down torque and power you have to pull out of the bends
awesome cars

I would stick with the GTS unless you're willing to adjust your driving style in order to gain benefit from the turbo's dissimilar power delivery. A 2WD GTS in the right hands is almost impossible to outrun in the real world.

However, a change has been on your mind for many months now and, if you really do want a different car and don't like my 458 suggestion, then by all means try a turbo (preferably with PCCB's), but an entirely different technique will be required.
Regards,

Clive

Personally I would be surprised if any car out there would be more fun on a B road than a well driven GTS
but if you really want something that depreciates quicker than a GTS then by all means try a turbo??
id try a 458 myself,as per Clive’s suggestion

Thank you for your wisdom and comments gents. Having taken the GTS on a local back road on the weekend I tend to agree - I just can’t fault it, the sound, the Fact you have to really drive it to get the performance.

I have a further session booked with Porsche Silverstone Experience Centre for a couple of days in July which I thought would be cheaper than the Turbo and maybe across even more fun.

thanks again and I promise to put the classifieds away!

I've just snapped up a .1 GTS, manual..
I should get it in a few weeks... to say I'm excited is an understatement !!
Last N/A powerkit engine..

:)

I have no doubt you will absolutely love it. I’ve owned mine for three years now and having owned a 996 C4S, 997GTS there is something special about the normally aspirated 991.1 GTS.

i normally change car every couple of years and each time I look at what to get next, it’s just not as much fun or special as the GTS.

Enjoy

Thanks!

do you know if the VTS Tracking comes as standard on a GTS? I’m trying to get the list of standard equipment but can’t find one anywhere...

Pretty sure it was standard, you get the two plastic fobs in the wallet But obviously have to pay the annual sub to Vodaphone Tracker.

I ve had a few turbos and always purchased when there around 2 years old and to date I ve not lost any money as I have kept the mileage down and always service buy Porsche the service history is key ,
once you have owned a Turbo the normal aspirated cars are just to tame , there nothing like the power that just keeps building when you give them some beans ,

Your not here for a long time , but a good time buy a Turbo .....
