Sunday 24th Feb. Following on from Stephen's post, and since the summer seems to have come early...

I'm thinking of going for a run out tomorrow morning if anyone fancies it?

I'm near Hexham so pretty central and therfore happy to have a blast where ever anyone fancies, could meet at Lanchester (for breakfast) and do the well trodden Alston route or maybe meet nearer Newcastle and have a spin either up the coast or over Rothbury way?

I know a few people are at Race Retro so maybe nobody is available, but if you are let me know.

I'll probably aim to meet at 10am ish I would think.

Chris

Hi Chris I’m up for a run up the coast tomorrow morning but have to be back in ponteland by 12:00

No problem. We can start in Ponteland a little earlier if you like? Maybe 9am to give a bit of driving time?

Hi Chris,

Count me in. I’m happy to meet in Ponteland as I live in Wylam. A 9.00am start is fine by me.

Randall

9am start and back by 12 would work well for me too.

Where is the meeting point in Ponteland, Waitrose Car Park?

Great. Let's meet in the blackbird car park at 09:00am and take it from there.

Plenty of time for a coffee at the halfway stop. 👍

I’m a little late in replying...I was only thinking today weather has been great should have checked if a run organised so I’m up for a run out tomorrow 1st thing. Like others I have commitments, can get away from 8am but booked in at Beamish to meet family for lunch @ 12noon.

Located outskirts Sunderland but can get on A19 easily and well connected via Tyne Tunnel, bridges A1 etc.

Will look again later tonight to check latest plans.

Hi Simon, good to have you with us for as long as you can.

Should we aim to leave Ponteland at 9am or meet then, would that help everyone with timings?

See you in the morning.

I’ll be in Ponteland For 9am (have we decided on a meeting point?) one of my nephews has won the lottery with his younger brother to tag along as passenger...at last I’ve found members of the family who want to play with cars...pity about the 40 year age gap...let’s hope I avoid the squabling with his yonger brother in the morning LOL

Hi Simon, I think we're meeting at the blackbird car park (NE20 9UH). See you all bright and early. I'm going to try and get a bacon sandwich before I arrive!

Chris

Sorry was out last night so had to do all my replies on my phone.

So Michael, Randall, David, Simon, great that so many can get out in the ??winter, sorry that the Johns can't make it, you never know what might happen next weekend though.

If you (or anyone else who would like to come along) sees this then no change from above...

We'll meet at 9am in the Blackbird Car Park in Ponteland (NE20 9UH) and head for the coast and sort of make it up as we go along. If we head up the coast there is a nice coffee shop in Amble we couls stop at. Anyway see you at 9am (I'll aim to be there a bit before) where we can have a chat about routes/times.

Chris

Sorry we can’t make it. Have a great drive out & well done, Chris this is exactly what we need more of.

I agree Greg.Numbers are not significant and in many cases a small group of like minded drivers can have so much enjoyment.Last year I was out with a 2 and 4 car drive.

Members north and south of the region should just put it out there if they are just thinking of a drive out. No plan just make it up on the way like today Chris will give his thoughts and we're off.

Today is a great example of tweaking it to suit as many as possible.

Jipeeee Great early start to a long season (a plus to global warming) down at the retro and here In the north east.👍🏎🏎🏎👍

En route guys, just having to give my little passenger a McD’s breakfast I promised him...should be there for 9am Don’t leave without me...hoping this fog burns off!
