It will say in this months Porsche post that it is open to club members, that is the reason I say the end of the month. I agree with the sentiments but I tried to stick to the policy line [

Bowled over by a GTS day at Silverstone I have taken the (probably idiotic) move of trading my gorgeous C2S in for a 4 month old GTS. Can't wait to pick it up and will now be coming to the youdrive day in that instead. Quite unbelievably, Porsche are prepared to loan me their GTS PDK for youdrive, for only £55, so I've decided to burn their fuel and rubber rather than my own. Looking forward to it !

You may have but then again may not have read the Porsche post column this month [] but to fill the last places available the event is opened to club members generally. I have an updated list coming back from the centre shortly but it looks like its working towards a very well attended event, with only a few slots remaining...[] For which I'm grateful...[] With the excellent weather over the past few weeks I'd hope that the Ice hill will be working properly and given the club has the middle year event the following day I'd imagine the centre are just as interested in getting it working 100%... garyw

Gary, well done, you must be very pleased with this result. It adds credibility to the register, and PCGB, that we (ie you!) ask Porsche EC Silverstone to run an event for us and we are able to make it a sell out. This will have helped Porsche "manage" the discount they've given us for this event. How many "slots" were available in all? David Yes, my wife and I are both booked in at 09:00hrs, she in our car, me in PEC's current version of it.

Yes, pleased that members have taken up the offer to educate themselves and also obviously that the club and register have not been left with egg on our faces...[] We had a good response last time with Youdrive and I'm pleased that the change in the style of the event has appealed to members once again. It shows the connection the club has with Porsche and the centre for them to be willing to discuss and put a package together for us. The numbers changed due to the final slot being cancelled and those booked moved onto other slots within the day, whether they added available numbers I don't yet have the full details on, but I think all parties are very happy with the results. Myself and Lancerlot will be there all day to catch up with everyone and say hello... Very much looking forward to it and the fact that the weather doesn't alter the days outcome...[] garyw

Gary New car still not arrived and its leaving it late to put any sensible miles on it before the 21st, so I have booked one of there Turbo S cars for my session, not what I really wanted but it will have to do. It seems officialy there is no running in period but info floating about recomends 1000 to 1500 miles at below 3000 revs is this correct ?. Steve
My manual says to avoid frequent cold starts, take longer journeys where possible, avoid motor sport events and don't rev the engine too high when cold for the first 1800 miles. Personally I put a self-imposed limt of 4000 rpm for the first 1000 and gradually built up over the next 500. TBH you don't need more than 5000 to make it fly! See you on the 21st![

Steve I think it makes good practice to run a car in.. not just for the engine which may well have been ran up on a test bench, but for the other working parts such as bearings and gears which are turning for the first time... Not that attending in a loan TurboS is a hardship eh! []
