Thinking of getting my Dashboard Flocked as its cracked and it makes it a bit different.

Ive not approached the company yet which is close ish to me, they have an excellent reputation and offer a full range of colours.

looking at their website its about £100 for a 944 dash, so obviously looking to reduce that by offering a group purchase.

put your name forward if you're interested.

Flocking is when you spray on a material using a magnetic charge. Some Marques used this method as standard for interior trim but I'm not aware of Porsche doing so, certainly not as far as 944's are concerned. The material sprayed on can be almost any colour and comes in different sized particules.

Thanks for that explanation Pete! When I read the thread title I thought I had logged on to the one of those weird web sites, you know the ones, you need to know the secret handshake[;)]

These:

They have a good reputation locally, and I am told they will play ball with group buys.

they have done an early dash before if you look in the gallery.

James :)

Nice looking finish... some of the 'before' photos look very far gone.

I refurbed mine (well, a tatty-ish but non-cracked one off ebay) with a bit of wet sanding and black vinyl dye. Vinyl dye is great stuff, it actually eats into the plastic and dyes it, rather than just sitting on the surface like paint. More of an OEM look, and a lot cheaper!

I'm just looking for a different look and the glare of the dash annoys me so it's win win for me. [:)]

Sorry i did not reply to your text earlier James

Just got off holiday.

I paid £60 for that very dash in the gallery and actually they have not asked for my permission to add it to their website (naughty).

They lost some of the things that i have had done since so i havn't used them since.

The glovebox in my 968 is flocked. Is it not on the 944?
