Wiper judder

Help please it's driving me crazy.
I get juddering from the wipers and I've tried everything to cure. I,ve changed the blades, cleaned clayed and hydrated the windscreen, cleaned the blades and hydrated so i'm sure it's not the blades or anything on the windscreen.
If it's only spitting (not much water on the screen no problem) if it starts raining fast they start to judder at inter/normal speed if I put the wiper on fast no problem.

Try wiping the blades with a few drops of WD40 on a cloth to see if this improves it.
Failing this, there's a useful YouTube video here.

Regards,

Clive

If you have a glass cleaner such as Autoglym Glass Polish or even windowlean then use that on the window and the blades

When I’ve had this problem it has always been one of two things:
  1. The blades aren’t flopping over to the same angle in both directions causing them to judder, usually in one direction. That is remedied by twisting the wiper arm with a protected adjustable spanner until the angle that the blade makes to the screen is equal in both directions.
  2. A small amount of polish dust or some other form of unidentified dealer cleaner that has got onto the glass and blades. None of the proprietary glass cleaners seem to resolve this. I have always had success by cleaning the screen and blades with neat washing up liquid on a damp cloth, then rinsing with clean water.

thanks for the reponses.
I've cleaned the glass multiple times so sure its not the glass.
I've used a little WD40 on the blades and twisted the arm slightly so the next time we go out in the rain I'll let you know fingers crossed.

I've had that trouble, and even the neat washing up liquid didn't work. A chap at the Porsche Centre advised me to get some Traffic Film Remover (Amazon) - you just spray it onto the glass, leave for 5 -10 minutes and hose it off. Works brilliantly.

So, how did it go after following those operations? 🤔

So went out over the weekend and still getting the judder. when very little water on the glass it's fine as soon as it starts raining heavy the judder returns, if I put the wipers on full speed judder goes. I've used YUM glass on the windscreen and the blades i've decontaminated the glass and blades and clayed the windscreen so nothing on there at all to no avail.

You've decontaminated the screen, cleaned the blades and adjusted the wiper arm angle, so it looks like your only other option is to replace both wiper arms entirely. Genuine replacement parts from your PC are better than aftermarket units since this ensures the arms will have the correct spring rate. Good luck! 🤞🏼

It'll be getting booked in soon for its 1st service so i'll mention it then and see if they can anything. Hopefully between now and then the weather will stay fine lol.

Don't see why not. I've replaced the blades for new ones and cleaned the glass numerous times so for me the fault is in the arms. we'll see lol.

Have you tried wiping the blades with some graphite dust?

If you haven't got any, just rub the tip of a pencil on some sandpaper to create some dust and use that.

Works a treat.

Hope it works for you.

I haven't tried that but have tried everything else I think the arms need resetting Its booked in so hopefully they'll sort it. If not i'll definitely try it.
Cheers.
