Must agree Cup 1/S not copies are the deal on 17" but 18" on BBS look good .

Well i'm with Pat on this one, I think 5-spoke wheels look best on a 944 - in fact I really like the ones on Pats car. Though I would really like to see some 996 C4S/turbo 5-spoke twist wheels on a 944. They do look very very nice. However I often think that twisted 5 spoke wheels should be handed. It sort of annoys me that on one side of the car the spokes are swept forward and on the other side they are swept backwards. Also the perforated 997 5-spoke alloys have grown on me recently though i've never seen them on a 944.

I think I must be alone in thinking the 997 turbo wheels just look gorgeous. Possibly the best wheel Porsche have ever done. I cringe every time I see a 997 turbo with aftermarket wheels on. Though don't think they'd suit a 944.

IF you had the cash + bought them. youde be wasting your money,,, as they WONT fit a 944s2 OR turbo. As the offsets are too wide......

A mate of mine had a CS rim fail on him at Elvington about 4 years ago - one spoke broke completely. The wheel held up though & didn't buckle. I might be able to dig out a picture
The view was that it had been re-furbed a couple of times which had removed even more metal from the spokes & made it more prone to failure....

The CS wheels still look good to me (much nicer than the D90's, which are just inferior versions of CS rims [] )

I'd agree with John on keeping F&R widths very similar - I like the feel of the car better with a bit less understeer. When I wear out my current track tyres (225/50/16) (I I ever do another dry trackday [8|]) I'd like to go to 245 all round, or maybe even 255 on 17's.

Sorry don't remember the brand but i have seen a brand new lightweight (they looked lightweight too ) japanese wheel totally buckle on a tricked out GT3 mk1 at Donnington a little over a year ago,the wheel looked like it collapsed then dug in,the car went into a tyre wall and looked pretty wrecked(felt very bad for the driver a nice bloke,looked very upset as you can imagine..),few years before also seen a german brand(not BBS) wheel rip the spokes at the hub on a tuned 911 turbo(that crashed too),wheels really can fail which makes me worry about 16 inch forged clubsport 944 turbo wheels,i have heard of them failing aswell(anyone else heard that??) the spokes are so thin,and they are so old now...In a nutshell i would say get good quality wheels whatever you happen to choose and check them(at least quickly) after a trackday for fractures and cracks.Any wheel that is good value when they are new would worry me for track use.

OK, so make me paranoid just before my Donnington trackday, why don't you.....[8|]

That's the guy I bought my 944T off - he had just got those rims for his GT2, when I went to collect the 944.

I had a look on the site where he bought the BBS rim's from and they also offer 8J front and 10J rear , So I am sure I can get them to fit my 944 T , but again we have gone full circle , as this topic started on the wider look split rims , and if they would fit the 944 without any modification , happy days !!!! I think I have found a pic of a standard front wings 944 with these lovely BBS Wheels .
