Why??

So the good news (from a necessity point of view) is I now have three people interested in my car with a viewing from someone only a few miles away tomorrow.

I just got another another email through from Piston Heads so I was surprised to think I had yet another interested party. However, this is the message they sent;

Message:
" ahmmm..you got extra zero by accident on the price..I am sure it is 550 pounds. "

Why would you do that? What an arse!!

What a loser!

Hope you get the asking price for it. And then rapidly buy another one and get back in the fold!

I was gob smacked - I'm used to keyboard warriors and also cheeky offers when you sell a car but why would you waste your time doing that? It's beyond me!!

Rob - I have quite a bit of interest in it now but really wanting to keep it - damn necessity!!! If it does go, I will be behind the wheel of one asap. Having tried three variants the turbo is the one for me and such a nice car.

My reply would be:

If you honestly believe that a 944 Turbo is only worth £500 then you Sir, are an imbecile.

Good day.

LOL. You're not wrong Simon. Those and other suitable replies did spring to mind but I thought better of it and not get drawn in!

The first genuine buyer will relieve you of the responsibility of that car hairy.

I got an early off-set car earlier this year otherwise it may have been me. (mine has no LSD [:(] ) but is a 1985 production which some-how appeals to me.

Ignore the clowns, or it could be a tactic to soften up your position on price. Remind 'em the car is a great spec great condition 220 which is very hard to find nowadays.

good luck
George

I wouldnt have even posted it here in case they are now smiling away.

Hope the sale goes well anyway.

£550? Is he having a laugh?

Saying that, I had one person telling me mine was worth £3.5k tops due to the mileage and that minters go for no more than £4k. Saying that, alot of it is down to people who remember seeing 944s uber cheap (I remember a chap on Retro Rides/Tipec who was selling a very tidy S with an S2 engine for £1.2k, and he had people offering him £500 (as most would know here, you will struggle to get an S2 engine for less than £1k these days, and that is before one looked at the very tidy interior and exterior in comparison to the sheddy interiors in the 'cheap' cars.

I remember in the Stag world, a chap was saying a cheap Stag is £10k+ for the right car, with a pricey one being quite a bit below (some here may follow my logic).

Agree totally []

As the idiot to go and do a search on eBay for classic cars between £500-1000 and see what it brings up.... Scrap or low power knackers

This. Just ignore them. Don't let it bother you and don't give it a second thought.
