Hi, and welcome. I've moved this to the 944 forum area as there are many more people there able to help. Or give you conflicting answers and then argue about it, before going off-topic completely! [
] I used to use 10:40 synthetic in my lux, but it had semi in it a few times as some garages thought it was as good, if not better. That discussion never reached a conclusion, so I'd be happy with either and change it regularly.

In my old 944 (guards red '86) I used 20w-50 and changed it often, no problems. In the gold one I use(d) 10w-40 and it didn't seem to do it much good it started leaking much more, detergent properties? So in my new '83 944 I think I'm going back to 20w-50.
