Where to Fit Road Angel / Radar Detector

Where have people fitted Road Angel/Geodesy GPS Camera detectors and Radar/laser detectors in 996 cars?
I do not want to put them on the dash as this would spoil the looks and invite problems.
The only area I can think of is to remove the CD storage rack fitted below the PCM. I would then need to get a holder manufactured to fit in the same slot. (It could also hold the head unit of a Target LRC100 jammer). Ideally it would have a flip up front to conceal the devices when parked.
Would this be of interest to anyone else?

I used the window suction mount to let it sit on top of the dash.I put two layers of felt like material, where the mount rests on the dash to prevent marking. When I leave the car anywhere I prise the unit from the velcro mount and store it in the lockable armrest..Not too much hassle.

There may be a problem with fitting the unit lower down in the dash as the unit has its own internal GPS monitor..I wonder if it would have problems located here next to the radio and other electrical devices, rather than on the dash with a clear view for the unit through the window.
I have friends who have more serious GPS kit and they have external aerials for their units,so it must be an issue of some sorts.
The good thing about using the sucker mounts is that you can quickly move it to another vehicle if you choose.

I bought the remote aerial and mounted the actual Geodesy unit with velcro just under the dash. Very discreet and works fine. No interference.

I bought a Road Angel a couple of months ago and frightened myself silly when I found how many cameras there are. I do about 40K a year so the odds are awful. People have differing opinions but the radar detectors seem to offer poor defence as by the time they are detected (amongst the petrol pumps/ Sainsurys/ garage door signals you are copped! I went out in a demo car with the fully monty in and the radar systems made me feel as though I was in a Yoof Disco with too many alchopops inside me. It' s personal choice but go to this site for some guidance ukspeedtraps.co.uk [:D]

I' ve just bought a Road Angel with the laser detector - I' d been thinking about it on and off for months - the thing that finally tipped the balance was the announcement about how many more cameras are going to be installed this year and the fact that in numerous cases they are still hidden ! I believe that the GPS versions will prove to be much more reliable than the " detectors" (as long as the databases are kept up to date). So far I' m impressed - finding somewhere to put it has not been an issue - the laser detector add on is a little clumsy in that you have wires hanging around however thats really a minor issue given the additional warning this is likely to provide.
