Where is tow point on 86 944

Hi i have a "few" 944's, couple of them not working just now and to free brakes on one im looking to tow it up and down our road,

but i cant find where front or infact rear tow point is, on my other earlyier car i know its behind square black cover next to front lights setup but on this later model with long indicator i cant find it

Also my other car is head in garage and needs dragged out and cant see the rear point which i presume will be same on both cars

Ps one car has turbo style valance on rear and other has slotted version

Front tow point on the later cars - look at the narrow slot above the number plate. In the middle there's a black plastic cover. Just pull it off and you'll reveal a threaded hole for screwing in the towing eye that should be in the tool kit.

Rear - from memory without looking, there's a small, square plastic cover in the rear bumper just under the black rubbing strip, for the same towing eye you screw in to the front one.

In my 87 car the towing eye hole is almost invisible and it took me ages to find it.

The manual shows a whole in the bumper but it is actually below the bumper on the right hand side and there is a rubber bung shoved in it and it takes a bit of tugging to get it out. If you have one of those turbo lower spoilers added on, then it is between the bumper/spoiler and you have to drop the spoiler to get it in and it needs to be a longer one to be usable.

Cars with the original bumper have a threaded bumper mount located behind the light frame trim.
These cars have a threaded insert on the rear body.
Turbos and S2s have a threaded insert in the centre of the aluminium bumper onto which the PU is mounted.
These models have a threaded rear bumper mount accessed through a cover in the rear bumper (as the spoiler covers the original).

The red car is an original bumper car which has an aftermarket Turbo-look nose cone added - unfortunately there is no provision for an eye.

Yeh just worked that out as there nothing there, found rear tow thread in body

You seem to know plenty about these , Have a look at this pic, never seen a set of lights like this, others seem to have a clear plastic trim at side

Indicators are cheap, but the PU mounted driving/fog lamps are very expensive. I would guess that this GRP nosecone was either built or adapted to use a pair of cheaper generic lamps.
