where is Hamilton and Palmer Alarm circuit board located in a 993

This may seem an obvious point, but it is worth checking that the banana plug connections (e.g. under the seat) are not loose. It is possible for them to work loose over time, with speedbumps, potholes, etc.

H&P are very good at sorting out any issues, so well worth investing your time with them.

Back operation cancelled so further tests can be done, allowed me to remove the passenger seat, guess what, the alarm box was not there. Checked with Jim at H & P and he was at a loss to understand it, his view that there alarm should be under the drivers seat but i have already checked it. I have got a misfiring alarm and I cannot find it. Where else will I find it. I don't want to dismantle the car but i may have to. Where else could the alarm box be fitted?

The top Picture is under the passenger seat and the bottom picture is under the driver's seat. I have also checked the front of the car and also under the dashboard. I am now taking out the central console but I don't expect to find the H & P alarm. I am coming to the conclusion that the car is alarmed by a Porsche Alarm and not a Hamilton & Palmer Alarm.

Right sir, I can see you have a tiptronic equipped car so room over on the left hand seat is at a premium , and any h&p alarm (pa100,1000,2000) box is alloy ribbed and black in colour, a h&p cat 2 immobiliser with the gold plated USB type key blade is half the size and also alloy ribbed and black! If you have remote central locking with a key fob ,it must be an alarm system ,not an immobiliser system fitted. Under the right hand seat is also full of control units and as you have the hifi amp ,alarm control unit and the cruise control unit fitted under that seat you have a fully loaded car! They must have put the box in another position, some times under to floor in front of one of the seats,perhaps behind the glove box , I can see the factory wiring has been disturbed at the engine Ecu loom( under left hand seat ) that's where most of the connections are made to integrate the accessory alarm in the car when new. I would listen to where the relay clicking noses are coming from when activating it and home in on the location .

the Porsche factory alarm is never removed when another alarm is installed , the 928 part numbered factory alarm controls the interior lights,central locking,and cannot be disabled with ease, it didn't meet uk thatcham specifications ,so all uk cars were retrofitted from new at the selling dealer with a uk designed system that did,the h&p pa range ( Porsche branded) .

Correction after studying the photo again its the black ribbed box between the two silver control units on the left hand side partially hidden under the seat rail. Next to the transmission tunnel .

Its defiantly under the drivers seat it a black box held in place with security screws. I've just removed mine for repair

this is assuming it a PA1000 model single fob two buttons. This model needs a red key fob to program the new fobs.

Just to say the immobiliser key fobs on my 22 year old PA1000 system had literally worn out with the buttons on the one key barely working and the other not working at all even when battery was changed. I have finally bitten the bullet and after talking to Hamilton and Palmer (they are incredibly friendly and helpful by the way) I wrestled with and finally got the drivers seat out. The PA1000 box is screwed down by tamper proof screws so another call to H and P to get the part number of the screwdriver which is an RS component size 2 (stock number 4447908) at a meaty £18. There are 4 screws holding the box in place and then 6 screws to undo the side of the box where the wiring loom is. Two of these are tamper proof (above and below the loom). Don't even think about getting these out without the right tool! The immobiliser card then slides out and can be unclipped from the loom. Sent to H&P with fobs and they returned it 2 days later so brilliant service. Received back two new fobs with the card and a new red key which I never had before. This is in a sealed pack. Not sure what this is for or how it works! Any body else got one? All went back together pretty easily except I lost a seat bolt and found £1.25 under the floor of the car! I am no mechanic but this was all doable and worthwhile I think to have peace of mind that keys work properly.

 
there is also a remote ciruit board (the bit that links to the fobs and central locking), it's in the frunk to the offside of the fuel tank low down.
