Where does this go?

Still available from OPC for similar money, I bought some a while ago but only got round to fitting them to my S2 recently.

They mate to the front arch liners, the outer edges utilise the same fasteners as the sill extensions, the inner edges use a push in plastic clip, the holes are already there on the shell but covered with sealer.

Excellent info, thanks Paul. Pretty sure my car never had these fitted. Were they only fitted on some models years and then dropped or fitted in some markets but not others??

Should I retro fit them? Pro's and con's??

I did ponder whether or not to fit mine, I like to see the shiny red floorpan, anyway I offered one up and thought they looked ok and will offer some protection from road debris, so I fitted them.

I could be completely wrong, but I think the later cars had them, pretty sure Martins now sold 91 Turbo had them fitted.

Your car is a 91 but didn't have them? My car is a 92 and shows no signs of having had them fitted. I'm wondering if they were fitted on early S2's and then dropped as a cost save?

Tempted to put a pair on if they offer some additional protection to a vulnerable area. Now that my car is "rust free", I would quite like to keep it that way for as long as possible!

Thanks again.

They were fitted to the "Faster" more superior 944 models i believe to aid air flow and keeping the car on the ground at warp speed............................Read 944 Turbo [:D]

Yes mine had them fitted on the 91 Turbo

Thanks for all the input chaps. By the sounds of things these were only fitted to turbo's but are retro fittable to S2's as Paul has done. Good to know.

Seems that way as my '87 Turbo has them.

At least one has been broken on mine from previous incorrect jacking, so could do with a new pair myself.

S2's will not need them as they really come into effect after 150 mph [;)]

Ducks for cover again !!![:D]

My '91 Turbo came with them, my S2 did not. Quite good though ; most moderns have them.
