ok thanks for your help in my previous thread, I've done 800 mile in her now and just love it,
fixed all the niggles just the mounts to do

But I want to make it mine if you know what I mean?

She's white white grey leather and d90s

I'm going to leave it pretty much alone but going to change the wheels so I have a set for sale in very good nick photos on carandclassic white 944 86 for sale ad 1595 in nottigham check it out I'm not cleaver enough take copy the ad and put pics on here

Fancy 17 inchs Fuchs ??????

Somebody will be along in a moment to confirm, but if your car has ABS, then it'll have the later offsets which <pause to think> are 55 front and 52 rear.

If it were me, I'd either stick with D90s, but colour them something like light graphite, or go for some Clubsport D90s (similar but lighter) or the best option, some Cup 1s. Any maybe some Cup 2s at a push. I don't think there is such a thing as Fuchs in 17", well not a Porsche one anyway??

I am no fan of putting anything on that didn't at least appear on either a 944/968, but I know others have had success with Boxster S alloys (also known as Turbo twists I believe) and GT3 alloys.

found 17 Fuchs on ebay 750 a set fit a 944 without abs ok so there not Porsche but fuchs were fitted from new so a modern twist in size?

I'm afraid that Porsche never made any Fuchs wheels in 17" sizes though a few companies will dismantle 16" versions and bolt on bigger rims if you have a couple of thousand £££££ spare []

IMHO the best looking 17" wheels for 944s are Cup 1's from a 968 but they can be hard to find. 17" Boxster twists are a 'similar' alternative that can be cheap as they are so plentiful ( I have three sets for my cars [8|] )

wow they are nice but the one on ebay although Copies look more in proportion to the rim and centre size and there 750 a set ?
how much would my d90s be worth?

I'm afraid those £750 one's on Ebay are designed for a mid 1980's 911 Carrera and have the wrong offset for your 1986 944 [:(]

The rear wheels have an offset of only 16mm which means they would stick out further than your wheel arch. A 1986 and onward car needs a rear offset of around 55mm

Really good D90's with good tyres will be circa £200 - £300

A '1986' 944 shares the same offset as a 1980s 911: 23mm (nominal). It was the 1987 model year car,s built from September 1986, that have the later 52mm offset.

I would assume that if he has D90s it would be the later offset as that's what mine had and it most certainly is the later offset. I would go for some Cup 2s and maybe repaint them black with a chrome or grey lip or something simliar like that.
