Sorry if this is an old chestnut but I have searched previous posts and can't find the answer.
Will the following wheels fit my 1989 2.7, it has standard suspension and bodywork:
Ex Boxster - front 7x17 ET55, rear 8.5x17 ET50
I think they will, but no doubt someone knows the real answer!

Did you look in the 944 FAQ??

Below should hopefully answer.

If you have a late offset car it is also possible to fit nearly all of the later Porsche wheels up to current models as long as they are no wider than 9" and have an offset in the range of 50 to 65mm. It is possible to go even wider if the exact offsets can be calculated and here is a very useful site that allows you to enter the width and offset of your current wheels and their possible replacements:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

This will tell you how much extra/less clearance you have at the inner and outer edge of your wheels. It is then a case of measuring your current clearance to see if they will fit.

Boxster wheels fitted my old S2 fine with no spacers required. The fronts on mine were 7J too from memory.
