Wheel nuts.

I use a "soft socket" on mine.

Preferable if you've fitted a new set nuts all round. Probably not much point on old ones. I don't think the wheel brace that came with the car has a soft insert?

I needed 4 in the end, carparts4less were just about the cheapest for Bimecc nuts. Over a fiver each before discount though.

Having just had to drill two of my ally wheel nuts off as they had been overtightened by a garage, what do the rest of you 944 owners do? I'm just considering whether to get steel wheel nuts instead of the ally ones and hopefully never have the problem again.

Never use a windy gun and use a torque wrench and a hex socket to put them to the correct 130NM and you'll have no dramas!

I bought a set of 20 from ebay for about £50. They are identical to OEM and the guy has sold loads of packs to Porsche owners looking at his feedback. Anyway, I test fitted one about a year ago, it hasn't loosened or fell off and is still shiny! I can probably get the other 19 shiny ones looked out soon...............

They are the brand I bought a few years back, used a deep 6 point socket on them since and they still look as good as new.
