Wheel Bearings - Series 1 & Series 2 Cars

Can anyone remind me which way around it is: are wheel bearings quicker and cheaper to do on the front of early or later cars? Also, I have forgotten which cars have the double bearings at the back, old or new.

Seeing that I seem to have forgotten all that I knew, any submissions would be gratefully received.

Later cars front bearing change is a bit quicker to do. Steel rear control arm (early) cars have double bearings. Also late ones have more or less double bearings, they are just packed together.
