Still searching!!!! Did want red but alot of concern about paint blooming. I am told that you can polish it out but it returns. So I could see what looks like an immaculate one just to see it turn into a pink car in weeks!
So my second choice will be white ( a very popular modern colour for top end spec cars) I have looked at a few and hadnt noticed on other colours but there seems to be a stone chip protectors tuck on to the front of the rear arch and rear of the front arch. A good idea but now at 20+ years they are turning yellow. Can they be easily removed and/or replaced or at the best successfully cleaned. Meanwhile the search goes on, with alot of help and pointers from you guys

All the cars have a set of 6 stone-chip protectors. They are easily available, around £60 per set when I last looked and replacing is easy with a bit of fairy liquid and a credit card to act as a squeegee.

There were white sets available, as they do fade to yellow which only shows on white cars. These are no longer sold, but a clear set should last many years anyway so it's not a big thing in the overall cost of running a Porsche! [:)]

The easiest way to remove them is with a heat gun (I supose a hair dryer would also work). heat up a little at a time and slowly peel away. I did mine a few days ago - the glue residue was horrible to get rid of. I used methilated spirits (from B&Q), but it still took a lot of elbow grease to get the gunk off.

Be warned though; I was peeling off the O/S one in front of the rear wheel arch and it pulled a huge chunk of paint off to leave primer []. The panel had obviously been painted at some point in the past and the primer not keyed well enough.

The clear protectors are available for about £30 on ebay, but they are not as thick as Porsche ones. I found out the hard way, so will now be buying a set of Porsche ones and scrapping my ebay ones.
