What's my 944 Lux worth?

Hi all

Another vague value my car post I'm afraid. My 1986 944 Lux has just got a new MOT. It's done 118,000 miles, mechanically sound, bodywork a bit tired with a bump or two. Good service history, though I didn't service it last year as I'd only done a couple of thousand or so miles since last service. It's due belts and rollers, but only on time, not mileage. And herein lies the problem. I have a baby daughter, and the Porsche doesn't get much use, it just sits on my driveway and another damp Welsh winter won't do it any good.
I will try and use it more, but am considering selling it to someone who will make more use of it. So, what could it be worth? I had a look on Ebay and couldn't see anything fairly comparable for less than £5,000, and there were a few (admittedly in slightly better condition than mine) for £8 - 10,000. (Not turbos or S2s) This sounds surprisingly high! Have values gone up that much since I last looked, a couple of years ago? Or are the sellers just trying for whatever they can get?

If I do put it up for sale, I'm happy to ask a high price - as if it doesn't sell I'll just keep it and use it more! But would be nice to know what sort of prices Luxes are actually achieving these days...

Thanks.

I think maintenance, repair costs and location are against you to an extent. It makes a lot more sense to buy a car that someone else has sunk plenty of money into, unless it's very cheap.

You may be right. Might be worth spending a few hundred pounds more on her and hope to get more back as and when I come to sell. I'm only in Chepstow, so not too remote!

Has anyone sold or bought a Lux recently, and are the asking prices on ebay etc in any way realistic?

Cheers.

Lots of dreamers on Ebay £2.5-3.5K if it's pretty and you want to sell, but if you're in no hurry aim higher and see what offers you get.
