What price 944 Turbo 170k FSH dodgy cloth int?!

I would advise against buying the black car, I looked at this when it was for sale in 2011. Back then it was for sale at 6k, its an ex track hack and the chap selling it at the time (i think its the same guy) had history for it but also had lots of on track pictures for it, if my memory serves me correct mounting points for the roll cage are still present and if you get on your hands and knees and look up at the sill's and the bottom of the doors you can see where the have been poorly filled and plenty of DA marks.

Other points I remember are;

It needed jump starting
Idled like a lumpy bag of nails
Was not allowed to drive it (partly because of no tax)
Did not feel that quick (from a passengers point of view)

Needles to say I walked away and found a better one for sale at half the price 15 miles up the road.

Keep looking[;)]

TTM - are you talking about the £5k 170k mile Glacier blue model? Do you have a swap leather?

Yes I'm talking about this blue car, and no I have no leather interior for a swap...

the early spec reflected the then current turbo cup series - the cars were spec'd without regard for cost, the 90MY cars had the LSD G/Box Oil cooler, Forged Rims, sports seats etc removed

The LSD gearbox with oil cooler was used on all 250bhp cars, including the '90 and '91 [;)]

And the forged rims survived on MY89 cars before D90's took over for MY90. M030 and sports seats became an option and almost all had a sunroof from MY89 onwards.

This ones had a respray with the sill repair, but the paint looks flat and the front wheels don't look right!

I LOVE the interior though!! Big pimpin' indeed!

confused on the MY88 & MY90 demarkation?

the early spec reflected the then current turbo cup series - the cars were spec'd without regard for cost, the 90MY cars had the LSD G/Box Oil cooler, Forged Rims, sports seats etc removed as the Company had resumed their focus on the 911 with the arrival of the Carrera Cup Series - the 964 series were just emerging and got the marketing focus. The 944 series hey day was over.[:(]

The 90 model year onwards cars still had the stronger gearbox with cooler and LSD, both of mine have sports seats with leather facings (but they may have been options) The dampers were the cheaper sachs/boge with similar rates to the MO30. Brakes the same - though the through arch ducts on the front were deleted. Anti roll bars the same. Wheels were cast not forged but I think wider fronts 7.5 against 7.

Both of mine have the 10 speaker stereo which I think makes the interior look more modern. The coupe has a bridge spoiler which I also prefer the look of over the rubber version.

The £5k car on pistonheads was a car i went to see a couple of years ago.
It was for sale at a very reputable Porsche specialist in Oxfordshire - Autofarm.

The car belonged to a doctor. From memory he had a foreign name. The car was looked after by Autofarm with no expenses spared at all. I might even still have pictures of the car. The car was for sale at less than £3k at the time. It was a bargain and I missed out. From memory the car may have gone to Buchanan cars (yes the one with the very shady past) in Scotland. Josh told me that he had bought it. I gave Buchanan a call and he offered to sell me the car for £5k plus shipping back to me in Oxfordshire......>Groan. I was gutted.

Autofarms Josh Sadler gave me a talk about the car and its history. It was a fantastic car. I dont know what has happened to it since. All i know is that it has been on sale for about a year now and the price hasn't reduced at all. Give Josh a call with the registration number, i am sure that he will give you the information you need.

Check the sills have been done properly.

I might re-visit this car as it does look very tasty in that colour and the cloth interior could be made very stylish......

I would love to create something like this:

Note the original cloth in the middle of the bucket racing seats.....
