Just an update on my project.
I now have the floor in and the sill on. The floor was fairly straight forward just cut out the old one and weld in the new section. The sill was far from straight forward though and required alot of fabrication to the inner arch at the front as weel as making all the bits of the rear lower quarter.. I'll let the photo's do the talking but if you have any questions then feel free to ask. Link to photo's below.

Stirling work there Colin, coming along very nicely, wish the PO who did the sills on mine had been so thorough!

thanks guys. I only get about 12 hours per week to work on the car so it's a long drawn out process but it will be worth it in the end.

Keep up this pace and you'll need to book it in with Alan for paint at end of May!

12 Hours a week = 624 Hours a year! lucky you're not paying yourself.lol.

See you at Sherbrooke next week, hopefully in my 944 fresh from paintshop.

ALAN.

I recon if I had to pay for the wirk that has been done along with what is still to go then the bill would be around £4k.So far its been striped, back end out and rebuild cleaned and painted, new poly bushes, newfeul lines brake lines, floor, sillls outer inner . new bottom front inner wings new windscreen , respay wheels refurb new ABS pump and a few other bits and bobs. I have cut out and replaced every rust spot on the car no matter how small. It's alot of work but it's all starting to come together now.

The only problem I will have when I finnish is what to do next.

We have a sc targa and a 944 turbo in the yard for customers waiting to get done so maybee I will do one of them, who knows.

I think they are worth it Pixie.. I mean what would you rather have a new boxter or cayman or a fresh resto 944. I'll have the 44 any day. Loads more character and alot less of them about. I don't think Porsche have made a car I would really want since about 1994.

Driver side finnished......... yeh ha!!! Put the car on the floor moved it over then out back up on stands and started on the passenger side. So far got outer sill off and cut most of the floor out. I hope the side will be quicker as I know what I am doing now and will try not to make the same mistakes as on the other side as they take alot of time to put right if you cut in the wrong place or weld the bits back on inthe wrong order.

How about an update Colin? How's progress?

How about a completion target of September and we can head down South for 50th Celebration Weekend together along with anyone else who fancies it.

Alan.
