OK today I had a little tinker, I have noticed that the car could be a bit hesitant under acceleration so after a bit of research I wondered if the problem was the AFM and I decided to do the refurb section on the following link.

Firstly it appears that someone had been in the top of the AFM before as it had been sealed with silicone, anyway I repositioned the wiper south on the track and reassembled, contact cleaned the multi plug, cleaned out the throttle body and tightened up a jubilee clip that was undone on a pipe going into the engine intake (engine side of the AFM) I did have a small vacuum pipe off which I replaced but now the car idles high (1400 rpm) and even after trying to adjust the idle screw (I tried a quarter of a turn each way) its still the same, however the car drives so much smoother after my fiddle with the air fuel meter and the hesitation is all but gone but why is my idle now increased ?
