I'm a software engineer. If you want 1s and 0s putting in the right order, I'm your man.
I'm a system architect. I work for a company in Cambridge that designs microchips, figuring out what needs to be built and how to do it. It's not just buildings that need architects you know!! [Software architect. Which means I spend part of my time designing software systems, a lot of time telling programmers "yes that will work", more time writing prototypes to prove to programmers "see it works", yet more time showing customers it does what they asked, and finally more time telling programmers "it doesn't do what the customer wants because you didn't do it the way I asked".
Bizarrely, I acquire and sell care homes on behalf of people. Based within a specialist surveying practice. Small world !ORIGINAL: aporschefan I'll go next. I was an IT project manager but left that field 4-5 years ago. I now own and run a group of nursing homes for the elderly. 3 of them specialise in Dementia care. They're based in the midlands and one is in the south. Which is why I spend a lot of my time on the motorway. If it's care for the elderly you want to know about, I'm your man.
Ditto Paul! Not to mention constantly having wet clothes and feet from wetsanding! Not so bad this time of year but sheer hell in the freezing winter months! John.ORIGINAL: Diver944 I spend most of my time knelt at the corner of a scuffed bumper or dented wing

CNC's, robots, measuring, general automation - sure...........Maserati's......maybe not, lol!! Having said that I have dabbled with automotive electrics over the years, the principals are all similar - but usually, machine tools are far easier to work on due to having better access and good documentation! Have you added some pics of said Maserati's to the 'other cars' thread??ORIGINAL: Ewan Hallsy - given that I have a collection of Maserati's, I always have electrical problems with my machinery!
