Wet carpets

Sometimes floor was really wet.
I found signs of water on the footwell side panels following rain.
This is not a uncommon problem
Local main dealer said get it sorted asap as there are some electrics that can get affected. They kindly offered to remedy for £1200 + vat .The car was under a extended warranty but that is not covered !
Numerous reports and horror stories on this problem.
Worst case scenario was to remove or reposition the whole sunroof cassette.
Or replace the two rubber sunroof seals.
I had neither done.
I found that the secondary Channel which is exposed when pan sunroof is open was filling with water and could not see where it could drain away. The primary channel which runs next to it is the one that obviously runs into the drains but did not connect to the other channel.
I did not garage my car .
Having dried out the secondary channel I had no more issues and very shortly after sold the car.
Thanks for your reply. I'm getting more feedback that this is a very common problem with the Mac.Yes had same issue with a Macan and pan sunroof.

I think I may follow your solution. Shame the Gts is a nice car.
If the wetness is just one side it may be the rear windscreen washer pipe that runs through the interior split leaking worth checking.
Good luck.

I have the exact same problem the deflector channel fills with water and runs across the roof lining down the post on to the floor, getting to this point has been a headache, I have cleared all the drains which run clear, then I still had water dripping through the fuse area on to the floor, so I took the head lining down enough to get at the top end of the drain pipe, all looks good here pouring water down the drain I could not see any leakage on to the roof lining just water exiting the drain below. Every one says its the drains but has you have found it is not! Do you have any further thoughts on what has already been said? TIA Graham
Yes we have a 2018 Macan with pano, floor carpets wet drivers side front and rear, I googled it thought blocked drains, I cleared the rubbers at the bottom and poured hot water through, this ran on the floor where it should so thought everything good, wife said I got wet feet when I drove the car today! so I looked yes wet floor with water running down past or through the fuse area, I took down the roof lining and could see the rubber drain pipes connected to the sunroof, I pulled them off and blew down and they were clear and well connected, I then noticed water drops on top of the headlining, I've looked for days and cannot find how it got there.I have a 2016 Macan gts which is suffering from wet carpets in the drivers and passenger footwells. Local garage has cleaned sunroof drains but the problem still exists. Anybody else suffering this problem.

As you open the door there is a trim next to the fuse area a continuation of the corner post trim I removed this and it was wet inside, I left this off, now when it rains water drips from the windscreen corner post trim onto the rubber floor mat, I've poured gallons into the sunroof gutter and nothing comes into the car, but I have sussed that when it rains water runs across the headlining and down the corner post and when this happens the recess/gutter that the the wind deflector houses in is saturated and the deflector is wet, I don't know how this gets water when the drain gutter doesn't, if I open the roof deflector up and go for a drive when all is dry I park it and don't have a problem for a while but it eventually comes back. how can the deflector gutter fill with water? I just don't know any help would be appreciated, oh when I tape the sunroof gap over no problem.
