Well ......

Well some really good news to report, thanks to Jon Mitchell a replacement power plant has been found and work commences very soon! Many thanks to Jon (Indi9xx) for taking the time to negotiate this.

My thanks to Andy and Roger at Promax for their excellent customer service and the storage of KUI during all this time.

Congratulations [:)] can't wait to hear how it goes, so is this a "standard" replacement or a special ? [;)]

Keep us posted.

Hi Dave,
This will be a standard replacement with some relatively 'mild' mods [;)] - a wild special is out of the question. I would rather spend the extra cash in the future restoring KUI to its best condition.

Nice to hear she's going to be hitting the road again. Sounds like you've lavished alot of time, effort and cash on her uptil now so it would be a shame to have ditched her and missed out on enjoying the fruits of your labours.

In the 3 years I have owned the car, I have spent a fair amount of dosh keeping the car on the road, the 'time and effort' has been spent by the specialists. (Northway, Promax and 9xx)
It would be a great shame to break the car up as it is in fair condition and no means a minter. I was hoping to spend more time tending to the cosmetics this year i.e wheels, paint, rear hatch and interior along with brakes.

The mods being applied to the new engine are precautionary ones so to prevent the same happening again.
So far there will be 55lb injectors, motorsport fuel pump and a genuine hybrid kkk turbo to go along with the existing LR DPW, Profec EBC II and promax chips.
I wanted to change the turbo out as my current one has 170K miles on it , I seem to remember the average life of a turbo is 150K miles for these cars and the last thing I want is for that to cause problems to the new engine.
The engine is being resealed with new gaskets, seals, belts and possibly water pump whilst all out.

I hope to pay KUI a visit this Saturday and finalise the work reqiured. I'll get more photos of the damage.

Enjoy the weekend, it looks to be a good one.

Wizard, good to have the reliability buttoned down.
I would expect you will have 300 very perky & reliable horses at the end of that.
AFR guage too??[8|]
The #55 Inj's will flow more BP Ultimate, and the Motor Sport pump will maintain the Fuel pressure I take it.[8D]
Look forward to your updates.....
My Pads need changing - dusty work - driving[:D]

Keep us posted Wizard. I'm very interested in your hybrid turbo. Once i've finished my chassis mods and tended to a bit of bodywork i'll be looking to something similar to your described setup.

Make sure the car doesn't get too comfortable down by the seaside [:D]

Now we have settled into the NEW spacious workshops next to the train station we have a resolution that no car is allowed to stay here too long....

The old workshop was a bit like "hotel california" at times (You can check in anytime, but never leave)... Often due to the bottleneck of space.. Now we have 4 lifts and a total of 9 bays the bottlenecks are gone.

Someone on this forum is even about to recieve a 3.2 944 turbo they have been patiently waiting for... god please protect them from themselves!!!

Amen. And protect those who he may smite down.

No prizes for guessing who this might be then?

Well ......

After all the waiting, praying, begging, pleading, insomnia, self harming and other things in the past 8.5 Months

I have had to say goodbye and farewell to KUI 9557. [:(][:(][:(]

I have come to terms that although KUI would have had a very nice new motor in the next 2 weeks, but it was still going to be a little while before the financial drain would ease and the amount of money to get KUI to the spec I dreamt of would just not be acceptible considering the cash spent already and my future with SWMBO.

But all is not lost.... KUI has gone to probably one of the finest homes for a Porker going and we will no doubt be seeing her again very soon.(so I'm told)

It is unlikely that i'll ever be allowed to own one of the best cars I have ever had, or anything begining with 'P' again.

Its been a blast!

Really, really sorry to hear this Jason [:(]

I hope you're able to come back to the fold somehow, sometime in the future.
