Water in the cabin Macan SD

Mine leaked, but has been fixed under warranty, and on balance if speccing a new one I would definitely go for it again - it makes the inside so much more appealing, especially with all the black trim.

Hi James. I have a pan roof, see my reply from last week. I like it as it brings light into the cabin although I don't usually open the roof. In the summer I actually have it closed more often due to the heat of the sun and sun glare. From what I've heard, it seems that the pan roof only leaks if the car is to be left outside and the drainage points become blocked with small leaf debris, tree sap or mould. If there's a leak then it's a significant issue which now might not be covered by warranty. I think at this level of purchase most buyers would expect a pan roof but at the end of the day, like many other options, it's a personal decision.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I think then on the basis that mine will be garaged I should hopefully be ok so on the basis that most advice seems to be that come resale it will need it I will probably risk it. Cheers

James,

I would agree with Stuart's comments regarding the pan roof and cars that are garaged.

I have the pan roof on my Turbo and it's main benefit is letting light into the carbon giving it an airy feel. I have driven with it open on a few occasions and the wind deflector works very well keeping buffeting to a minimum. My car is always garaged and I have had no problems with water leaking into the cabin area.

My car also has roof rails which I consider improve the air flow to the rear wing.

Thanks for the view from your perspective Brian. I‘m starting to lean towards speccing the pan roof again although I‘ve got about another 4 weeks of changing my mind left!
I read your thread with interest, your turbo looks great. Did you get any of it ppf’d or just ceramic coated?

James,

I had my Macan Turbo paintwork ceramic coated immediately following delivery. Well worth doing.

I've not had PPF applied on the Macan, although I had PPF on both my 718 Caymans. Since delivery in August 2020 and 5000 miles up, my Macan is showing no signs of road rash or stone chips anywhere, including the sills, which I had thought may be vulnerable due to the wide 21" wheels. My thinking is I'll pass on PPF this time around.

Regarding options, I can recommend the air suspension unreservedly. In combination with PASM, and Sport Chrono, air suspension is an absolutely brilliant system. The versatility of an adjustable ride height at the press of a switch is a very handy facility. While in Sport and Sport Plus mode air suspension provides excellent body control when pressing on. It's the best of all worlds really.

The 18-way Sports seats are also excellent.
