Warranty extension

Porsche Assist is now separate and expensive. I just renewed the warranty and took out AA European cover as I was already a member of the AA to cover other cars that I drive locally. I have heard that there are other warranties available but I stuck with Porsche, Well worth shopping around for either or both.
I don't have Porsche warranty.
1 Year - £1020
2 Year - 1840
Porsche Assist extra at:
1 Year - £169
2 Year - £275
The 111 check was quoted at £216 to 194.40 given PCGB membership. I mentioned that "I am also doing a service with you guys same month (not major)" and then it went to £97.20 - although I was strongly suggesting it should be zero!

Money spent on insurance always seems wasted until you have to make a claim. Many members pay up for the peace of mind, but you have the choice to find a cheaper alternative or simply insure yourself. [

The problem with not having a warranty, and "saving" the money for a rainy day when things go wrong, is that there is always the option to not get it repaired if the car is still driveable and spend the money on something else.[
This is still the best car forum with genuine helpful responses and sensible topics and input. Really appreciate everyone's input as always
Thanks
Steve
I just don't see it that way myself.
I've owned 14 Porsches over a period of 35 years and the biggest warranty claim I can recall was for a sticky steering wheel!
It's a privilege to own and drive a Porsche car and it is probably the cheapest supercar to maintain too - just ask Ferrari or McLaren owners about that! The extended warranty cost is competitive when compared to equivalent marques.
When you can get out and about to meet more Club members, you will appreciate most of us are just ordinary, grounded people from ordinary backgrounds with jobs, families and mortgages and who just aspire and strive to own one of these cars.
It is a joy of PCGB that its members are generally down-to-earth, approachable and sociable. The friendship and fellowship is one of the lasting rewards of being a member of our Club. [

Clive
My first learning was about the need to fit "winter" tyres to my car, which is used all year around, and to be honest is something that I'd never done before on any of my previous cars.
My second learning is now all about Porsche "warranty" and recommendation of being risk-averse because of a "just in-case" that potentially could be large, albeit you'd be one of the unlucky ones [
And...I agree as you already noted Clive "warranty" cover needs to be thought of in the same way as normal car insurance...when something goes wrong you're pleased that you're covered even though you still think about what you're paying out each year for that essential cover.
Best

Couldn't agree more.[
Also, I find the OPC EW very restrictive for some aspects. For instance N rated tyres do not include the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
