Starting to look for people who might be able to properly tune my modified 3.2 flat 6 in my Lola hillclimb car.
Spec briefly is:
3.2 1986 engine.
10.6 CR forged pistons
Carrillo rods
Twin plug heads Clewitt ignition system, NOT an ECU, no mapping, no distributor.
G60 cam forms, light weight valve springs and collets, standard sizes
PMO 60mm carbs (yes, too big)
Flat fan cooling.
Built by me 3 years ago this Xmas, when a virgin engine was broken-in on a local Rolling Road with 298 bhp at 5500, possibly 300+ now 'race run-in'.
Pulls hard, uneven tick-over, will not run at 800 rpm, likes 1500 far more. Bit 'pop n bang' at tick over, sound wonderful when in action.
Will cut ignition at 9000.
Bit tricky to cold start, hot starting is instant.
So needs someone who knows these engines to dial it all in
I want the engine tuned in the chassis.
Anyone with experience, real world recommendations please?
