Hi all,

I am currently renovating my 911T from 1971. When I purchased it, it came with a moth lita wheel which I want to replace.

Would ideally like a leather wheel with the bowtie shaped horn button too. The size required is a 400mm one.

I will happily purchase one that needs a refurb at a good price.

Let me know if you are selling one.

You would be fortunate to find an original leather rimmed wheel in good condition. As you may know these were standard fitment on "S" models but were available as an option for T and E. There was a wheel on ebay recently at £450. You would probably get a result by posting on DDK. Also on DDK you will find J T Parr who recovers leather rim wheels : quality job at a cost effective price.

I have a 400 mm steering wheel for a 1973 model car with the part number 911 347 082 00 in pretty good condition.

Although it looks like it is a leatherbound rim it is a composition type of material as you say only the S was originally fitted with a genuine leather covering.

OK Herbie, enjoy your car with its new wheel.

Incidentally I have no idea why my posting shows up three times, I must have had a trembling hand on the send button, possibly excited at the prospect of selling something out of my garage?
