Want love to buy a 964 but...

Hi guys and let me congratulate you all on an excellent forum. I am new to posting but have read many a post on this forum. I have in the past owned three different 911's. My first was a 2.7, second a 3.2 and my last one was a 3.0SC. I have a passion for these cars and would dearly love to own another one soon.

As I have recently had a baby, my life has changed. My plan was to purchase a 964 this year but my issue now is that will the car seat fit in the rear?

I have a 964 and children. A two year old and a 4 month old.
The only thing I have had to do is to change the rear seat belts to longer ones so that there is enough length to go around the car seats I have.
I have a BRITAX rear facing infant seat and two Porsche Prince forward facing seat (no longer available but there is one in the members for sale section and they appear regularly on ebay).
Both types of seat will fit either in the front or back seats now.
The only issue I have now is fitting all the other child stuff into the car e.g. pram, clothes, nappies and travel cot etc but I have a roof rack (Oh dear yes!) to help with this.

Young children and a (964)911 are fairly compatible (IMHO) the trouble will come when they grow too big to comfortably be crammed in the back...................

Porsche Prince seat is the way to go, if you ring a few OPCs they may even have some old stock on display or in a back room somewhere.

That has put my mind at easy. Thanks for that. I was thinking along those lines myself. Well looks like the search starts.

Children and 964's.!
My two sons are now 19 and 17. When we have taken the eldest back to college the youngest doesn't even mined squeezing in the back just so he can enjoy [:D] the 100+ mile journey back in the front. So even big kids can fit too [;)]
 
Hi grandad

I was looking for a while for a child car seat that will fit the back of my 964. Searching the forums I found a lot of the seats recommended were not available anymore or only available in the US not in Europe and in some cases needed a seatbelt extension.
Thanks to a recommendation by Mike a 933 owner on Pistonheads I got the Concord Utimax a German made seat that fits very well. The base fits very well into the small rear seat unlike a lot of other seats that have a very big base. You do have to clip the belt into the receiver on the other seat but this works fine it is held very tight.
