Want a free studio shoot of your Boxster?

Folks,

I write the buying guides for Auto Express and the next one I've been asked to do is on the first-generation Boxster. I need to find a nice example that's 2-4 years old, which I can put into the studio to photograph for the piece.

Can you please get in touch with me ASAP if you've got a car that we can put in the studio "" it needs to be a tidy example that hasn't been modified. The spec doesn't matter, but we need a brighly coloured car (preferably red or yellow), as it's photographed on a white background in artificial light. There will only be studio photography of the car, so there will be no dynamic shots taken at all.

If you think you might be able to help (this needs to be done within the next three weeks), could you drop me a line please, either via this forum or direct to my email address (mail@richarddredge.com) "" attaching photos if you want to. In return for the use of your car (which nobody but you will drive), you'll get your costs paid, a set of the pictures (a studio shoot isn't cheap!) and your car in the UK's biggest selling weekly car mag.

You'll need to be able to give up a few hours to take your car to either a studio in Derby or to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu (Hampshire). It would obviously be best for us to get someone reasonably close to one of these locations.

Please note that I'm away from Friday morning until Sunday night, but I'll deal with any replies as soon as get back in.

First generation ie circa 1996-1999 ... or do you mean first generation of the "facelift" 2003-04 [&o]
 
Surely a first generation Boxster would be the 2.5 [8|] and you will be hard pushed to find a 2-4 years old one, since they are celebrating the 10th year anniversary this year [:)]...

So Richard must be referring to anyone with a 2-4 year old 986 Boxster 2.7.

PS: Richard, hope you are aware that this would cover both facelift models (2003, 2004) and pre-facelift (2002)
 
Hi,

Mine is a Artic Silver Boxster S with Red FULL leather (Rolls Bars / Dashboard / Seats / Door cards) Artic Silver and red interior were the launch colours of the Boxster in 1996. It is standard in as much as has original wheels (Boxster S Wheels) and lights (Orange indicator lenses) and no non-factory orderd bits. I have had it 3 weeks and bought it from an Official Porsche Centre (Authorised Dealer) so it has been 'prepared' to a very high standard by Porsche GB in Reading and looks as if new - no scratches, scuffs or dings. From factory it has colour coded centre console, rolls bars and has the optional sport seats which are embossed with the Porsche logo. It also has PCM (Sat Nav). The walloy heels have all been reconditioned and there are no stone chips up front yet!

Mine is first generation as is pre-facelift and the original shape. The 'S' , over the 2.7, has red brake calipers (which look great), a twin exhaust tail pipe and a third centre vent in the front bumper. It is a 2001 car, but as I said it is immaculate due to having just been bought from an OPC.

Also, I am visiting my parents mid July in Lymington, in the New Forest - which is not too far from the motor museum in Beaulieu!!

Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read and reply to my posting, which was hurriedly written and despatched before I went away for the weekend.

Just to clarify, I'm after a brightly coloured car if possible, rather than silver or grey. Crucially, there's been a change of plan in that we're now after as early a car as we can get, as we want to highlight what great value these early cars are.

Therefore, if you've got a yellow or red early Boxster, and you're able to help out, I'd love to hear from you.

If your still after a car, I've got a 2000 W Boxster S in Zenith Blue.
Only problem is I am not getting the car until Saturday!
I also just happen to be located in Derby, which is where the studio is!
